Car as proof of funds?

Hi everyone.
I have right now about Can$ 7,000 in a bank account, and a car that is worth about
Can$ 10,500 that I plan to sell before moving to Canada. Will this money be
considered as enough proof of funds to start the PR process? (I'm supposed to have
Can$ 12,000 for my spouse and I).
Keeping in mind that if everything goes fine I would be moving to Canada in about a
year, I would have more than the $12,000 I would be asked for us in the moment of the
landing. Will this intended amount be considered even if now I don't have right now
the funds required?
Also, besides the funds, everything else seems fine for me, I'm a Computer Systems
Engineer with 8 years of experience. I hope this might help in assesing my
application.
TIA
