car insurance cost in toronto
what's the average car insurance cost in the great toronto area
(mississagua). someone in this group is paying CAD$3600+ for his '99
VW. and yet my friend is paying only CAD$900+ for his '99 camry full
coverage, although he has been in toronto for 6+ yrs.
i did a quote online at www.kanetix.com, i'm
29, male, licensed for 9
yrs, clean record for the past 4 yrs, no claims. '98 camry, full
coverage, CAD$300 deductible, CAD$1M liability (wow!!! $1M). i'm the
only driver. the cheapest offer is from dominion of Canada,
CAD$1415/yr. that seems to be reasonable, i'm expecting to pay a bit
more as a newcomer. in fact that's cheaper than what i'm paying now
(CAD$1845/yr).
so how much u guys r paying?
btw, i'm with liberty mutual, i think they do offer car insurance in
Canada. better stick with them if they offer me a good rate?

Re: car insurance cost in toronto
For new immigrant - car insurance sucks! Even though I have 10+ yrs driving
experience with 4 years of "no claim" certificates from my non-Canadian
insurance company, what I am paying is $2400/year for 98' Camry. Having no
credit or no driving history means "bad history" for any newly immigrant.
The website advisory e.g. kanetix.com gives me even much higher quotes !!
