I'm a Canadian Citizen and went through US immigration to marry my american husband two
years ago. We want to move back to Canada. When we move, he of course wants to be able to
work. When I moved to the states it took 7 months before I got a work permit, and I'm
afraid of that happening if we moved to canada. I feel like I want to go back to canada so
badly, but the system will make is hard for us.

Any help/advice would be appreciated!

Unfortunately it will most likely longer than 7 months to sponsor your husband outside
of Canada.

There are a number of means by which you can ensure that your husband is eligible to work
in Canada soon after your return. You may process the application in the USA, if you can
demonstrate an imminent intent to return, and arrive only once the landing documents are
issued. He could then work immediately.

Alternatively he may seek an employment authorization either in advance of arrival in
Canada, or shortly after the submission of an inland sponsorship case - after an Approval
in Principle.
