Default Canadian Living in UK, wanting to bring British Husband back to Canada

Hello all - great site - maybe there are some answers to a couple of questions I have (My situation is that I have dual citizenship Can/UK & have been living in the UK now for nearly 7 years, married to a Brit & we've been married for 2 years, together for 6)

I couldn't find answers in previous threads...so here goes: 1)Do I have to go back to Canada to sponsor him, or can I sponsor him from here? i.e. can you sponser a spouse while both of you are living abroad? 2) what medical tests are done - specifically, drug testing? 3) is it better to, or would it be quicker to have him come to Canada just as a visitor and apply from there?

We could do either - wait here & apply or move over & apply - really don't know what the best option is.

Sincerely thanking anyone who is able to help clarify or suggest anything!

1) As Canadian citizen you may sponsor your spouse while still abroad,
providing that you declare your intentions to return to Canada once your
spouse gets visa.

2) No drug tests

3) It is also possible. As for total processing time - at present both
options (sponsoring while abroad and within Canada) for Brits will take
about same time, thus do what is more convenient for you.
