Default canadian immigration and american immigration

Hi all
I got the canadian immigration and I have to land in canada till september 2003.
I am working here in US since 2 years on H1 and my company filed a green card for me as well which will be finalised in a year or so.
My questions are as under:
1) I heard that you cannot have both the immigration at the same time ( though the lawyers here in US told me that you can be a immigrant of as many countries as you want).
2) What kind of problems I may face when going to canada or coming back from there.
3) Should I have to take some kind of permission from the candian government to work here in US.
3) Can I sponsor my family on immigrant status and how long will it take to complete.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

I am not aware of the definitive answer as to holding multiple PR's however
even if it were allowed you could not maintain both for more than a year or
so as i know if you spend more than 6 months to a year outside teh US they
start to question your green card status and likewise you have to live in
Canada for a min of 2 years in 5 so at some point you would have to choose
between them anyway.

You need no permission from Canada to work in the USA that is completely a
US thing and as long as you have legal status you can work there, however if
Canada considers you resident in Canada for tax purposes then you will have
to file yoru global income in both countries and so forth.

As a Perminant Resident of Canada you can only sponsor members of your
family who qualify if you are living in Canada, so you cannot be in the US
working and sponsor them at the same time, you would have to be living in
Canada through out the whole process.
