Anybody clarify "What is Replacing/Exchanging Driver's Licence"?. Do
I need to submit my orginal USA/Japan/South Korea(as in website)Licence for
Canadian driver's Licence issuing authorties or show only the proof
how long we have driven in these countries in order to get a new
Canadian driver's licence without test.

Thanks in advance.

There are international drivers license treaties that for certain
countries in particular, you cannot hold a license from 2 signatory
countries of the treaty. For Canada & the US, it is called the North
American Drivers License Compact.

So, specifically, if you have a US, Japanese, or South Korean license
and you come to Canada, you surrender that license of the license of a
Canadian province instead. If you don't do that a) you've broken the
terms of the treaty, and b) you have to start in any graduated license
program like used in Ontario at the bottom as if you'd never driven
before, because you must hide that license!

I will suggest you to get a copy of your past driving record(also
called Driver's Abstract) from your MVS regional center, that might
help. But you might not want to show your driver's abstract if you have
points and fine on your licence :-)

Thanks. Good idea. Can someone point me the website address for the
institution which administer the driver licence for British Columbia, such
as DMV (Department of Motor Vehicle) in California?

http://www.icbc.com

Once you're licenced, you may want to check out
http://www.canadiandirect.com. I have my insurance through them.

Every province is different, just like every state being different in
the US.

Basically, you just have to park between 2 iglu down on the main street
and sweep the snow off your windscreen and you're set.
