I didn't actually have my OHIP card at the time but when I went to get it in November after I'd received my PR they back dated it to June so I would have been covered during the time I was on implied.

Basically what they said was should I have incurred any expenses during that implied status time I would have paid for it myself and then when my PR kicked in I could apply for reimbursement if needed.

Whether that actually would have been the case I don't know as I didn't even realise I was eligible for OHIP!
