Can not provide reference letter from current employer
I am in a kind of tricky situation and just can not provide reference letter from my current employer. I am ready with almost whole my package but not this. At this moment it would be very suspicious and little bit risky to ask for anything like that. After all I am forced to hide that I want to immigrate to Canada as a Skilled Worker. If it would be reveled I am quite positive that I will loose my position. How can I explain it to Canadian authorities? Does anybody have some samples? I’ll be glad for any help and answer.
Sincerely,
Jackal

Re: Can not provide reference letter from current employer
Your employer does'nt need to address CIC officer in his letter. Ask him you want to start part time Master or PhD degree and you need reference letter for university . Whats the big deal. When i applied for immigration i got letter from my employer the same way. 2 months ago CIC contacted me for letter from current employer. My new employer was kind enough to issue letter without asking thousand questions.
It also depends on your country of residence. CIC in Australia might be linent but dont expect same kind of flexibility from all other consulate world wide.

Correct. Before I applied to CIC S'pore, I sent them a fax stating that I did not wish my current employer to know that I am applying, as processing times may take 2 years or longer and I did not want to jeopardise my chances of getting promoted in the near future.
CIC replied asking me to provide as much documentation about my current job, in lieu of a reference letter from the employer. Besides the above mentioned documentation, I enclosed my resume, my letter of appointment, tax documentation and the latest letter from the company indicating the increment / bonus I got.
