Cool BRITISH PASSPORT QUESTION.

Hi,

Please can someone help!

Im wondering when you go through airport officals in the England and Canada and they scan your passport - does their system record if your in the country currently and when you go back does it then record you have left.

Some people say it does record entry and exiting the country and some say the system tells them your name, sex, address etc?

Please confirm

Don't believe Canada has many exit controls but I'm sure it'll record as being scanned somewhere. They generally don't keep track if you're "leaving". Obviously it's a different story if you're entering.

Mind if I ask why? Have you overstayed somewhere?

If they don't track when you are leaving then it will still show up I am living the country?

Im renewing my passport, so does my PR stamp from my old passport needs to be transferred over to new one? do I need to let anyone in Canada know as I belive my landing paper has my current passport number, which has expired and I am going to renew?

all your "pR stamp" shows is that you used your one time Visa to activate your PR status. it was a one time use thing

you don't need to do anything. other than live in Canada for enough time in any 5 year period to maintain your PR status
