Average processing times updated today on CIC website

Re: Average processing times updated today on CIC website
From what I understand they are processing all the post June 25th 2010 applications first, then they are processing the Pakistan applications feb 2008 - June 24th 2010 until there is parity on the AOR dates with the British applicants which is somewhere about April 2010. Only then are they turning back to us........

I agree
AOR date.
In our case... we were pre June 2010 applicants. AOR August 2010 so not expecting the process to be completed until end Dec 2011. Given that we were not planning on moving until then it's no big blow. End of Dec early 2012 will be OK with us as it suits our plans.

When we applied: (Pre June 2010)
- Processing time: 13 months
- Later changed to 16 months
- Recently changed to 20 months.
One more change like that and it will have gone from just over a year to 2 years
The sad thing is as the months go by London add more months, so we aren't getting any closer to PR

Re: Average processing times updated today on CIC website
Anyone have a rough idea how long PNP takes as am very p****d off at a further extension in processing times! Have got a job offer and LMO and about to apply for TWP through London as I need medical for job.
Our lawyer has advised us to go PNP once we are in Canada as FSW are taking ages and he thinks we'll get PR through PNP route before our FSW application is processed.
Anyone with any real experience of this in NS? Feel like telling them to stuff it at the moment, so much resting on getting to Canada this year, kids education mainly. If we hadn't invested so much time, money and dreams on this venture we'd probably throw the towel in.
Any advice gratefully received.
Tracy

no surprise they've raised the expected months total really, makes it April 2012 for us now, I really hope they start to clear the backlog and they don't add any more months - I won't hold my breath though

Acknowledgment of Receipt (AOR) London or any VO send this to you when they create a file and put it in storage. It usually has a B followed by 9 numbers you can use on ECAS. This is the date the clock starts ticking and is usually some 4 - 6 months after initial application is sent to Canada for FSW's

Thanks Nikki and Spaceace,
Our lawyer said to apply as soon as possible after we get there so that would tally with what you've said too. Will bear in mind to ask our lawyer to send it via London if possible too, don't want any more delays

For post June 26th 2010 applications, there is no such thing as AOR. ECAS is updated to say "RECEIVED BY VISA OFFICE" but they do not send and paper or electronic acknowledgement of the receipt of your application. After that, ECAS will be updated to IN PROCESS and then you know that your application is really being looked at.
The number beginning with a B is called the file number and it is now sent to you by e-mail when the initial eligibility review from CIC is deemed to be OK. As before, this can be entered on ECAS to find out what your status is.

Bloody typical we are 1 week from the 16 month point and they move it to 20. This isn't moving the goalposts it's moving the bloody pitch. So frustrating as they've only received 2 applications for my NOC.

The email all pre jun 2010 people got back from London said it could take 2 years to clear the backlog, so I would expect it to increase to 24 months, but then again, did that take into account all the Islamabad applications they now have... At this rate it could be 2015 before I see a ppr
