Mac, Thanks for your kind thoughts and the PM we're really nail biting here now. Going to the coast on Friday for the weekend to try and relax a little.

Mac the letter I quoted seems to be aimed at the 2007 guys ( see the thread 2007 were are we up to) Personally I'm in the middle group (Feb 2008 til June 2010) and don't really know whether I'm coming or going as can't even get them to reply to case specific emails. I sold my house over a year ago and thought that would be the biggest stumbling block. Little did I know eh! Can you throw any light on this June 2011 "shake up"

Thank you for your recent enquiry.

Please be advised that the additional information for your son has now been reviewed by our Medical Officer. We require the following documentation from you within 60 days:

- Updated UK ACPO police certificates for yourself and spouse

Once the police certificates have been received, we should be in a position to request your passports for visa issuance. We look forward to receiving the documents shortly.

Yours sincerely,

XXX

WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Sent off for police certs last week in case we were asked for them so they should be here in the next week or so.

We are in the same group as you and even though we are shown as "in process" on ecas since January 2011. I don't think we have actually been started yet, ecas still states our documents are pending review. With regard to the shake up on July 1st it is expected CIC will alter the way points are issued giving more for people under 30 and less for work experience. Also maybe more for English or French ability. No one on this Blog knows what NOC groups will be dropped or added at this time or how it might affect previous applicants. We are all going to have to wait and see!

Hi Malco just noticed your NOC is same as mine and our timelines are the same. It's good to know I'm not alone! And I thought nurses were in demand but CIC are certainly not in a rush to get us out there. Are you degree or diploma?

Hi Melsa, were not alone as I believe there are many others in a similar situation to us. We are now applying under my wife's nursing diploma credentials and her nursing experience. Our original idea was to apply using my I.T. credentials but that fell foul of CIC's NOC Code changes a little while back. It just seems like everything has come to a big halt at the moment and it's very frustrating isn't it. We sent an e-mail via the London CIC web site a few weeks back and we are still awaiting a reply so we're not sure what's going on now.

Hi Mr & Mrs Malco
I'm diploma too and sent an email to London CIC back in Jan but have heard nothing. What province do you want to move to and has your wife applied for registration with the nursing board yet? Sorry for all the questions but it would be nice to share our experiences. We want to go to Ontario but I haven't applied to the nursing board yet.

Im not sure there is an 'acceptable' time to contact them...that bit of the process is a bit of a no mans land Im afraid.

The whole thing is just a complete nightmare and whilst our trials and tribulations have been difficult, overall the wait has not been that unusual........so far.

I really hope that you get your med requests soon

Hi Melsa, we are looking to move to British Columbia and our understanding is that the U.K. nursing qualifications are not acceptable on their own merit and that there is a requirement to pass accreditation tests\exams before you can register as a practising nurse in Canada. We also believe the accreditations vary from province to province and the tests\exams must be taken in Canada. What is your understanding of the nurse registration process?
