Andrew Miller-- Help me please
I was called for an interview in first week of march,04 at LA consulate. I have 65 points and my masters will be completed in may,2004. once i completed my masters, my points will be 70. The CIC officer asked me to submit my masters till july, 2004 and also asked me to do medicals, pay ROLF and submit clearance certificates from FBI, state. He told, once i submitted all these documents they will issue me a visa.
My question is how long it ususlly takes after i submit all these documents?
Do they go for any background or security check after the interview and my nationality is Indian?
if they do these checks then what does it mean by backgound check/ security check and what they do in these checks?

Impossible to even guess the timeline.
And yes - all standard admissibility checks must be completed for all
nationals, including Indian nationals.
Background check verifies all your education and experience credentials.
Background/security check is being conducted by Canadian intelligence and
security agencies, completely independently from CIC - process will look
into your past to see is you are or ever were involved in any terrorism
activity, espionage, organized crime, if you are or were part of government
or organization committing crimes against humanity, if you are or were
involved in any radical movements, etc.
