Dear Mr. Miller Right now my status of immigration to Canada is waiting for results
of medical examination. My questions are: If I want to get married what is the better
way to do it without delaying my process of immigration:
(1) To get married here in Israel, if so, what is the better time to do it, before
getting visa to Canada or after and what documents we have to bring to the
Embassy of Canada? or
(2) To get married in Canada, but he will come like tourist, if so, will he get some
right to work there? And what are the conditions for my future spouse to come
with me to Canada is it possible at all?

If there is not possible to do it without delaying the process what is the maximum
time of delaying the process?

Sincerely, Yelena

Lena,

If you don't want any delays with your application then don't get married before
landing in Canada. If you marry before your visa is issued you need to add your
husband to your case by submitting his application, marriage certificate, all other
required documents and application fee. Depending from his nationality and countries
he resided in the additional delay may be anywhere from few months to well over a
year. If you get married and won't inform visa post then your visa when issued will
automatically be invalid - you cannot land with it if you are married while got
approved for immigration visa as a single person.

The best and fastest way to handle this would be to get married in Canada after your
landing. But he will have to get Canadian visitor visa on his own in the first place,
being your fiancée will not help him - quite opposite, it may be more difficult for
him to get visitor visa in such case.

As usual Mr. Millers answer is right on the money.

The only comment is that if he is Israeli citizen he does not need a visitors visa.
He come with you to Canada and you can get married here.

The answer from Canadian Embassy:

Please be advised that if you are getting married in Israel you should do so prior to
immigration visa issuance. It will be longer to get your visa but in terms of your
husband's status and complications it will be simpler.

If you are to be married in Canada, please note that you will have to submit a
sponsorship on your husband's behalf and an immigration file will be opened for him
outside of Canada. He WILL NOT have the right to work in Canada until he receives his
immigration visa. Your spouse will be considered a tourist in Canada prior to receipt
of his immigration visa.

Concerning time frames, we will have to examine the documentation to determine the
bona fides of the relationship and it all depends on the specific case.
