Need some advice please. I am sponsoring my wife, She is Russian citizen residing in
Russia. I have been approved for family class sponsorship and my wife has been issued
a interview date in late August. She has completed her imm008 form. However, there
was no instructions regarding her medicals. My question
is: Can my wife have her medicals completed on her own, when she can arrange an
appointment? Or, must she wait for the immigration department to schedule this
appointment? If so, will this be done on the day of her interview? How long do
the medicals take. Approxiametely how long after the interview would my wife be
issued her visa?

She theoretically can undergo medicals if she has proper medical forms already issued
with her file number. But note that the interview in August is not the end of the
process for her yet, it is just the beginning. If she hasn't been issued medical
forms then she should wait. There is no fixed timing for issue of immigration visa
after the interview, as interview is just one of many tasks to be performed. She will
get her visa after she passes the interview, background/security check and medicals.
In Russia it may take several months after the interview to get the visa.
