My answer is simple, I don't watch TV at all. I do have a set for watching DVDs but the DVD player went wrong so now I just make do with things like Youtube and BBC iPlayer radio streaming.

Re: VPN's
I have a package with THome (Magyar Telekom) which includes telephone, internet and satellite TV for which I pay around 12000HUF a month (not including cost of phone calls).
I have Sky News, Euronews, CNN, BBC World Service, and BBC Entertainment which shows programmes such as Eastenders, Doctors, Call the Midwife, Upstairs Downstairs, Dr Who and many other UK programmes. I also have HBO, Cinemax, Animal Plant, Nat Geo and Discovery (in English) plus all the Hungarian channels as well as well as those of other European countries.
Although I'm not a dedicated TV watcher I do enjoy being able to find something interesting to watch whenever I want to.

Thanks all for your input, went for Pure VPN, cost was a shade over 30GBP for a year and can change location to a whole host of places and it works a treat on upto 3 devices

We watch TV on our 1m wide Satellite dish and never had a problem with Sky. Although we are not able to watch, BBC1,2, ITV and Channel 4,5, we are happy to watch some of our preferred programmes on the IPad or computer. There is a live TV web page which we use. It is called FilmOn, and you can watch live any of the above channels. I am sure most of you know this already.
We have to watch what is available..a small price to pay for living miles away from England. Just be happy, that is all that matters. X
