I will make a suggestion but try to take the idea serious. But do not laugh ECO WALL at it first size required width .50cm height say 2 meter or 180cm length any but need to have access to both sides to construct cost not a lot ARE you good at rough plastering say Sand and Lime a bit of Cement good the top use bitumen sheeting well then use Straw Bale with a light weight frame to hold the roof in place, ok I no I am a bit CRAZEY but it's cheap and eco friendly and reusable. I told you I going senile digger

Remember you can kill two birds with one stone, on your side you could add a store shed lift the outer wall up to form a mono roof lower side on your side or make a terrace area with open timber frame top. Outer wall lime wash Inner wall use white cement as binder with sand and lime then using dye pigments say terracotta, sculpt out pockets in bales for candle lights, when all don, sit back enjoy the creation sink a few Palikir to toast a job well don, if you consider to take this project further the I can help with suggesting simple construction of the Berlin Wall I am away on my Plot today but back by 15th best of look digger

Might use the straw bale on another project. Where we want the fence it is not practical for a straw bale construction....although we are also in the process of also making a 'natural wall' on some of our land....looks quite good actually. Before you know it there will be a nicy hilly boundary fulll of wild flowers....although another neighbour joked that it was like the Gerat Wall of China

Re the soundproof 'wall'...we have seen something that might be suitable so are looking into it.

Straw bale a price I have is 320fh db I agreed a price to include halve bales at 220fh db the order for 200 full bales and 80 halve bales delivered, if I decided to Build Strawbale Haz digger

In the end we did not go for the straw bale option because where we are having the wall it would not be suitable.

Instead we have 2.3 metre high metal panel wall...which will hopefully be complete by tomorrow

Most of fence now up...very happy with it...now lets just hope it can stand cyclone Yvette
