Re: Viewing properties
We had a meeting with the estate agent friend last Tuesday and within an hour we went to view a house in a suburb of Miskolc. Liked the outside of the house, off road parking, two covered parking spaces, garage, 20 sq.m.covered terrace(with removal side coverings) joined to rear of property, internal layout but .... was so disappointed seeing the size of the rear garden which was partly brick paved and a bit overdone if you get my gist. Where we are the garden is about 600-650 sq.m. The house does have more bedrooms than we need but if mother-in-law moved with us that would mean making use of the ground floor bedroom. The area seemed nice but not villagey and no nearby shops like Coop. The house was having some work done when we viewed it but wasn't major repairs and overall in good condition. We mentioned we'd like to see it when the works were finished.
After a sleepless night we had to pop in to see some friends and mentioned about the house and another issue for us. That issue is we want to stay in the area where we are. It ticks alot of boxes but we just can't find the right house. So we are revisiting a suggestion by the mother-in-law to make use of the outbuildings. As they are they are too small, uninsulated and the roofs need replacing so will need knocking down and rebuilding. We'd also have to erect new outbuildings to replace those we will make use of. Or we might suggest building a small house where the outbuildings are and eventually join it up with the main house which isn't very big actually so would make sense not to go overboard on overextending the outbuildings replacement.
