Sorry for starting a new thread on a "beaten to death" topic! I know there's mention within other topics but feel this needs it's own.
I filled in a 'S1' Form and took it to the local office which deals with this. This was earlier this year or prior to christmas.
A week or so ago I received a letter from HMRC asking me to fill in online form CA8454, print it off and return it to HMRC. It turned out to be impossible because there were several questions asking about my employment. I'm retired on NHS pension. As I couldn't answer those questions I was unable to complete the form!
So I have now written two letters, one to HMRC and another to NHS Business Services Authority, about this.
Seems everyone else has found it easy to fill in the S1 Form. But I am aware for some Brits it's taken them a year or so to sort out access to Hungarian Health Care.
Atleast I still have private health care but I'm hoping to wind it back to save a couple of hundred pounds per year!

In my experience it takes about 3 months for the powers to be in Miskolc to process the form because, at least in my case, it all has to go back and be checked in the UK, before it comes back to Hungary for the TAJ card to be issued.
If you haven't already done so I suggest you address any queries to:
Overseas Healthcare Services
NHS Business Services Authority
Bridge House
152 Pilgrim Street
Newcastle upon Tyne
NE1 6SN
https://nhsbsa-live.powerappsportals...KA-01285/en-us
S1 form - what is this and how do I obtain one
https://www.gov.uk/guidance/apply-fo...ic-area-ca8454Apply for healthcare cover in the EU, European Economic Area or Switzerland (CA8454)
I should just add, in my experience UK government Department particularly when if concerns tax or anything related to money tend to get their knickers in a twist. When I was in South Africa I got fined £100 for not filling in tax returns. They threatened to come and repossess goods to that value if I failed to pay (what a joke). When I wrote to the Overseas Department in Nottingham, it turned out that I wasn't liable for tax any way and in fact I was due some £3000 for tax I didn't have to pay.Last edited by Sachina; Mar 15th 2021 at 2:09 am.

You say you have filled in the S1 form, which presumably you received when you notified the UK whoever that you were leaving the UK, and have given it to the relevant authority in Miskolc Hungary? . You also say you can't fill in form CA8454 which isn't surprising as you are no longer working and I don't think you're a mariner?
