Hi, how long does it take from applying to receiving a Hungarian passport as a Hungarian citizen?
My wife's British passport has expired and we need to return to the UK very soon and she only has her Hungarian id card.

As I recall about 2 weeks, but that was Oct.2021.

Thanks for getting back, Peter.
My wife went in to our local kormányablak yesterday and ordered her passport. She could have had it in 3 days if collected from Budapest but opted to collect it locally next Monday.
The 2 options were 3 or 5 days, so much faster than getting her British passport renewed.

Mine was done and posted to me in a few days and as has been said a lot cheaper thank UK one

My wife got an sms yesterday to say that her passport is at our local kormányablak, ready to collect.
ordered Tuesday, arrived Thursday. The cost was around 26,000ft. Can't complain.
