Gas Boilers

Re: Gas Boilers
Hi Klarika, I don't have facts and figures so can only speak from personal observations and what we have noticed is that towns and villages on the lakeside are very quiet with a large number of properties obviously closed up for the winter. Sometimes, whole streets, especially the closer you get to the lake. Once you come a couple of kilometers away from the lake, there are less holiday homes. I once read that there is a law which safeguards the lake areas from becoming complete "ghost towns", apparently a maximum of 40 or 50% foreign ownership is allowed in the lake area, though how stringently this is applied, I do not know. However, even 40 or 50% can have a huge impact on a town or village, especially if you by in a street which has a large number of holiday homes.
I think there are a couple of forum users in Fonyod and Balatonbereny, perhaps they would have personal experience of them in winter.
Personally, I do like Balatonsentgyorgy and it is very close to the lake. Another nice village, which we viewed property in is either, Balatonujlak or Balatonkeresztur, we viewed so many that I can't remember, I do know that it had a large resident population.
