Driving to Hungary from the uk
Hi has anyone driven to Hungary in the last few days ? Or is it now not possible!!

The Hungarian Prime Minister announced on 16 March that Hungary would close all borders to foreigners at midnight on Monday 16 March. Only Hungarian citizens and EEA citizens (including UK nationals) holding a Permanent Residence Card or a Registration Certificate and Address Card will be allowed to enter the country.

It is not just the entry regulations of Hungary to consider but also the regulations in place in all the transit countries. E.g. Hungary was stopping all the transit journeys for the guest workers from Germany and Austria returning to their home countries south of Hungary. Eventually they had to let them through but restricted the traffic to defined routes and then only if the down stream country had an open border. At times the tail back at the border was some 10s of km.
