Yes, I cannot remember when growing up that our family had pet insurance. In fact thinking about it, such a suggestion would have been ludicrous.

It is incredible how quickly we accept things as the 'norm'. Back OT, my little dog has had a couple of ops and all in they came to about 50 quid max. I have noticed the prices of tick prevention etc have started to creep up, but that is to do with the product prices not the vet fees.

As far as I am aware pet insurance is not the norm in Hungary, although with your house insurance you can get insurance if your pet causes injury or damage to a third party. (I will have to let the moles in the garden know )
