I would imagine that transport companies will continue as per normal .... you may wish to look at one particular company that get very good reviews often .... they are called Transport 4 Nederland .... they may well clarify if they are continuing as per normal.
As to an extension to the Brexit transition period, Boris has made it crystal clear that there absolutely will not be any extension !

I bet the mother-in-law's dentures that Bojo will be seen (again) to have made a reckless statement. It's one thing to have good intentions, but in today's very uncertain, precarious times one requires very careful considerations before making rash statements. The French president catagorically stated that Notre Dame de Paris would be rebuilt within 5 years, even before any detail studies had been performed or official rebulding estimates received........Again those goal-posts have been considerably widened since the outbreak of the coronavirus.

I'll obviously have to do some research on this and I think my first port of call should be the British Embassy in Budapest.

Why don't you and Agi fly out and send Archie by road so that you arrive n Hungary just before he does? Take your marriage certificate with you and if necessary wave it around.if they try to deport you!.

Nick if you read it carefully it says Hungarian citizens and FOREIGN RESIDENTS WHO HAVE IMMEDIATE HUNGARIAN FAMILY RELATIVES.

Unless I'm reading it wrongly that means you by virtue of your marriage to Agi!

Personally, in these times, I'd be more concerned about having adequate health insurance in place as your EHIC won't be valid when you move.

That's on our 'Must Do' List! Looks like we will have to take out six months health care insurance until we can sort out something more suited for our life style (the mind boggles what we may need!!!).
I must add we do have friends in Hungary whose son is into insurance, savings, etc. but having been burnt once in the UK I'm reluctant to use someone who is the son of friends of ours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (The exclamation marks are how hard I was hit! I wasn't the only one!!!!!!!!!).

My understanding is that pensioners resident in Hungary before the end of the transition period will have their acceptance into the Hungarian NHS paid for by the UK. Under the leaving deal for those resident in the EU (amongst other things) will get uprated state pensions and if they were pensioners when they became resident the health care will continue to be paid by the UK as it is now. Again my understanding, this also applies to any pensioner becoming resident during the transition period.
So get residency before the end of the transition period.

Thanks, especially for the last sentence - should be valid for me too as a German with a Hungarian residency card (lakcim kartya)..
Re the airport:
I thought Ferihegy was already announced as closing?
PS:
That remark was for Fentiger and Expatrick's link.

the lakcim card is an address card and not a residency permit
the other card you normally get is a registration Card
the one they want is a permanent residence card which has an id photo on
