Can anyone suggest what the correct wording for the letter from parents for children's visas. Last year VFS told me that the letters I had were not correct but could not tell me what the correct version was and the visas went through anyway so they can not have been unacceptable to HCI. I just would not like my son to have problems when he goes for their visas.

Thanks, that is great, despite a variety of searches I did not find that.

Does anyone know yet on how the new visa on arrival applications will have any effect on the application for longer term tourist/business etc visa's ?

Will it be" as you were" for us ? ( hopefully)

It's for only 30 days so for longer periods my guess is that it will be the same as before. No mention of how much it will cost on arrival though so it may be worth coming in and out six times to save on the visa fee!

If it's the same as the existing VoA you will be limited to 2 trips a year.

Still a little adrift of this, are we long termers still able to get a T/B/X or whatever visa ? eg 6 month etc ?

Nobody has said, but they are available in counties which already have VoA.
There was initially some talk of a simplified 'work' visa (B+E) plus a 'visit' visa for the other groups, and some arrangement for 'senior citizens' but they appear to be work in progress.

That's interesting, particularly that last bit when you consider statements made in the past about there being no provision for people to retire to India! How seriously is this being discussed? Any idea?

What happens regarding visas may depend on the result of the election!

HELP! I completed my visa form last night and when I printed it out the part where the information about where I will be staying was blank! I thought I had missed it out when completing the form so (wait for it) I did it over filling in a new form. Same result. My OH then took over and did yet another one but didnt complete it as we discovered there is no question asking for that address!!! I decided I will ring them on Monday! This morning we have received an email regarding the last application that we abandoned. saying it couldnt be processed and would we go online and do so!!! I have replied staying all of the above saying I will ring them on Monday afternoon if I havent had a reply before then. Also can anyone confirm that the amount for tourist visa is £92.20. I would be grateful for any help as I have my ticket for 3rd. March!!!!!

Don't worry, when you fill the form on line a couple of parts will come out blank on printing. You just fill it in by hand. I think it is for questions that you may not know the answer until last minute or it might change for example 'where you will be staying'.
Sorry, can't confirm price.
