Re: River Princess
I'd have thought there would have been far far more carcinogenic risk from both 'used' engine oils & insulation which would have probably contained asbestos.
Never mind battery acids & any number of other chemicals no doubt present on the RP.

Theres more radiation given off by an old Ingersoll watch with the illuminated dials and hands, than modern smoke detectors. It beggers belief when you look at the pollution that is every where in modern Goa and some one is concerned by some old smoke detectors in a marine wreck......next thing you know old Enfields will have to have filter tips on their exhausts to keep down the smoke !

Re: River Princess
I was down on the beach yesterday - it was SO HOT!!! - and it was great to see no remains of the R/Princess. All that was in sight was the floating crane (perhaps some pieces still under water??) and not another vessel. Not even a jetski!!! Just like the good old days.........
Back to UK in a week's time - can't wait for next season to see how beach may regenerate itself even more after the monsoon.

Or is this just the first wriggle by the Goa Government to avoid paying the first contractor in 12 years (less 4 days) to actually be able to do the job.
Even though the price was extortionate, That price was accepted. They have done the job (presumably) so pay them.
