THE PROPHET "DOUGLAS"
#1
Reading the financial gloomy papers to-day, my thoughts turned nostalgically to Douglas - whose prophecy of the melt down in the financial markets have come true, he told us many times that our Financial Markets were going to get really bad and also the Foreign stock markets. We need him as our mentor on this site not the Indian Trolls. You might not agree with him but on legal matters and his prophecies he has been 100%.
He says it as it is - which is not a bad thing.
Love him or hate him is has been spot on.
miss you Douglas - Noni

As someone who lives on income from investments and had already been stuffed by the €/£ rate of exchange rate ........ somehow this just doesn't make me feel any better

What goes up .... comes down eventually!!!!. One does not have to be a prophet to see it coming. It was on the cards since many years. It was just the question of what eventuality was going to trigger the meltdown. Greed knows no limits. Those who did not see it coming were perhaps already emproiled in it themselves.

[QUOTE=Goacrazy56;6825176]Noni you are 100% right when I first read Douglas's posts I disliked him immediately but I came to love him, blunt but to the point and he was right to the letter. Unfortunately it was to late for us we were already in this up to our scraggy little necks.

Talking about investments, here is some "refreshing news"
If you had purchased £1000 of Northern Rock shares one year ago it would
now be worth £4.95, with HBOS, earlier this week your £1000 would have been
worth £16.50, £1000 invested in XL Leisure would now be worth less than £5,
but if you bought £1000 worth of Tennents Lager one year ago, drank it all,
then took the empty cans to an aluminium re-cycling plant, you would get
£214.
So based on the above statistics the best current investment advice is to
drink heavily and re-cycle.
