But Goa does have some positive side to it doesn't it ?
Yes, Goa has lots of positive aspects.
Like the UK,the goernment is shit, but like aam aadmi all over the world ther,s not a lot can be done. The Goan people are used and abused but, by and large, come up smiling.Ten, or more, years to resolve simple court cases, it,s a disgrace, and yet these poor bastards live with this day and daily. I too was duped by my lawyer. I approached 4 lawyers to make a case against him. Three told me they were too busy. The fourth told me to save my money, I,d no chance.
So, fellow Dregs, keep your chin up and never, ever, let the shitty system beat you(us).

Regards.

Good to see that there are more positive threads now. My husband and I are looking forward to going back to Goa on August 31st and to opening the bar and enjoying the life. Dont think there will be many new tourists this season as 5 flights a week have been cancelled and rumour has it that the russian charters are pulling out. There are many bad things in Goa but still prefer the lifestyle there than in UK.

Thumbs up Re: Positive sides of Goa

Hi The bar is called KC's Scottish Bar on CSM Road off the Baga Road. If you go from Calangute towards Baga it is the turning before Tito's Road. Ask for Charlie and Barbara. The bar opens in October and I will let you the date for the opening night. Most ex-pats come to the bar on this night so we can have a blether regarding Goa's good points and bad.

Are you in Goa at the moment. look forward to seeing you all

Positive sides of Goa? there are many,so many. The property owning Fns there have 30 to 50 years to save up for their legal bills against the Goan govt. so there's a win win situation,no interest free loans needed
This coming season will see those magnificent sunsets being witnessed by one lucky individual(you'll be the only one on the beach),meals in the beach shacks will probably be had for free, the shack owner probably topping himself before the meal is finished at the thought of the good times passed,so if you see a set of swinging legs hurry on out.Taxi's, no wait there, thousands of 'em lined up just waiting for you,the sound of taxi taxi taxi echoing in your ears like a bloody parrot, night and day.
Likewise interactive games with the locals like "spot the white man" can be played out, mind the locals may take it too literally and get the cooking pot out ,so take care.
Your plane ride out will be a pleasure too, you'll be the only one on it,plenty of leg room there, but as no longer than two week stay periods being in order in case the charter airline pulls out mid season(which of course it will ) a flight home in sheer comfort beckons,by Qatar Airways.Of course being the only passenger on the plane ride out may see serious passenger intervention, having second thoughts about coming to Goa and saying bugger this, finding somewhere more attractive and getting the pilot to put down in the middle of the Sahara.
Of course Goa has its positive sides, about the same distance as the Falkland Islands the RAF can practice long distance bombing raids on it,there's a thought deliver passengers(dregs) and bomb the crap out of them and it.
Just a few thoughts on the positive sides of Goa ,I know there are so many many more, one more springs to mind, fuel savings. The cops will be lining up every 5 yards or so checking your driver documents, not that I am suggesting they are after bribes but your wallet will be a lot lighter, thus passing on positive fuel savings.

Jose, Now that you have buggered off and found Utopia, can you leave the Goa forum to the people who wish to remain there and talk about the real positive sides of Goa and may I suggest that you go on the other countrie's forum and moan about where you are living now.
What's up with you man you leave the place you hate, you find a place you love, but you still keep posting bad vibes on this forum, I think that you really do love Goa its your love, hate relationship and its broke your heart, so just get over her and consentrate on your new love the lovely Utopia.

Well said beatlenut !
jose1 you obviously have a major psychological problem about Goa and India. We do realise India is a 3rd world country and will remain so for a long time but this why some of us were drawn to it in the first place.
( We in the west haven't made Utopia here either) I suggest you move on and concentrate on the Nirvana you are in now for your own mental health sake
Leave us to concentrate on ours !
Thank you and good luck ( Please do not respond to me as I have better things to do )

Contemplating one's navel springs to mind as does the equally exciting watching paint dry OR the Friday night treat of examining the inside of table tennis balls together with a sharing one 330ml can of 2% lager with a group of friends!

In short, get the message 'Do you know the way to (GO AWAY!) San Jose!'
