I want to create a little off-topic sub-forum for Goa (a lot of our other forums have those) for you all so that you can chit-chat etc in there, as we have got a big increase in light hearted/chit-chat threads (which is great) but some of the other threads are getting lost a bit amongst them.
Anyway, I wanted to ask you all if you had any suggestions as to what you want to call it?
For example in Australia their off-topic area is called The Barbie, in Canada it's The Maple Leaf, USA is The Trailer Park and in New Zealand it's The Sheep Dip etc etc.
So fire away, I would love to read your ideas

Nothing beats an Aussie flavour to a British/Goan(Indian) forum title?
Presumably in the future you will welcome Hindi/Konkani/Marathi (unintelligible) responses to Australian forum issues?
Or maybe we should all learn to speak Aborigine (or draw it)?
As to the shortlist?
Ignoring the fact that the whole execise is unnecessary,
They are condescending, pitiful, and insulting to those who regularly participate in this forum, rather like the revamp of description of regulars a while back..................
Maybe instead of all these pathetic tamperings it would be better to drag the forum kicking and screaming into the 19th century?

No reason has been given for wanting this in the first place?
I get the impression that we have a more active forum, that in general is better behaved than elsewhere in the world.............
so why do we have to be inflicted in this way?
From brief (and somewhat shocked) forays into such abuse filled locations as "TOI" ......do we need such officially licensed insult sections?
Whenever those who frequent these sections on an obsessive basis (20,000 posts in a few years), the response from this focussed forum is mostly "go away"
Maybe there is some mileage in the old USA adage................
"If it ain't f**ked, why fix it?"
And I do recommend reading post#1, if anyone mis-understands this post.

No worries you are entitled to your opinion, so thanks for sharing
I've been running BE for 13 years so honestly I know when the time is right for an off-topic area. Believe me it won't ruin anything and will help the Goa forum keep on the right track so that the more serious issues don't get lost amongst the chit-chat etc.
It's not being done to annoy you, and you don't have to use it if you don't want to .. but there are some who will use (and have requested) such an area.
In the grand scheme of things it's a small thing to help those who want to chat about anything and everything, but keeping within this section, a place for them to do so.
