Hi, I have been trolling threw loads of websites in the hope of finding long term accommodation in either North or South Goa. They quote prices of approx 1500rps per night! Yet when I read people's experiences of renting they state that long term rentals can be very reasonable at approx 3500 to 5000 per month. We intend to be in Goa for 6 months or more.
Just wondering if it is better just to arrive and go into a hotel until I can find a suitable place to rent. Or if anyone reading this could point me in the right direction.
Many thanks in advanced to anyone that can assist me.

A lot depends on when you plan on arriving in Goa!The monsoon starts in june and runs until Sept/oct. April and may are extremely hot and humid. I`d suggest waiting until you arrive to find somewhere!
Allthe best J

Thanks for the response! Not decided what area, still doing research. I am looking for a place that has a busy expat community and at the same time take in what Goa has to offer.
Once again thanks for the response

Thanks for the info Andy but have that one sorted! I will be applying from Edinburgh (hometown) then making all my arrangements from there. Sadly Spain is dying a death, it's like a ghost town, economy suffering, joblessness and most expats going home and tourists are few and far between

Hi, Chris yes it is sad and I realise a lot of places are suffering. The reason for the visit is just to enjoy Goa life before the inevitable return to the UK. Sun sea and to experience the culture.

As already said, much depends on where and what you rent. Count around about rs 15000 to 20000 a month for something reasonable in mid Goa ( ie Candolim ) less in monsoon
