I find the comments here totally astounding regarding this poor child's rape and subsequent murder.
The two perpetrators, now in custody, aged in their late twenties/ early thirties plied this girl with liquor and hard drugs and proceeded to gratify their animal instincts. Hopefully, they will spend the rest of their miserable lives eating cockroach infested food in a suitable dungeon, which is more than they deserve.
However, this young girl throws a tantrum and her mother gives in and abandons her in the care of a 25 year old man they barely know!!
The girl's appetite for drugs, not available for free, can only be sated by sleeping with the creeps she is associating with who provide the drugs for a price.
Why is the man in whose care she was left in not charged with statutory rape?
Those readers who appear to tar all of Goa with the same brush of invective that they do this case would do well to peruse the pages of the News of the World. Surprise, surprise these things also happen in the holy than thou west. The difference is the police in England would have dealt with this case with alacrity and not let it bob about on a public forum until the public's rage compelled them to act.

While I agree with your comments and wishful thinking the unpalatable facts remain that where there are drugs, sex and violence, other degenerate activities are sure to follow as night follows day.
The Goa of yesterday is a distant memory. Where there is money to be made, albeit on the backs of the innocents, no pun intended, cynicism and loss of human values are the spin offs.
In the early 60s I could walk the streets of " Nairobbery", day or night with little fear to my life. Try that today and you will be toast.
In the 60s in the States one could leave one's front doors unlocked, secure in the knowledge that everything would be in place on your return. Try that today.
Do yoy still believe that Goa of yesteryear will come back again? Good luck to you!!

Hi all,
well i can say that i foun Goa really safe.
I met there a Girl (22 years old), which was travelling for 6 months thru whole india. The last 2 months she spent in Goa. She didnt had any problems there.
I think it depends on where you are, and what you are doing. For me, its the same in every place on earth...just my thoughts.
