You are a one GC15!
To set up a co in india, simply walk into a lawyers or an accountants office , tell them what you want, provide a few details , drop some money on the table and it will be done.
Drop some more money on the table and they will tell you its a good idea.

GC15 If you want to set up a company go to an accountant FIRST, the lawyer won't bother with you until property is involved. When you are at the accountants ask them for the name of an advocate they always work closely with one. As Douglas says drop some money on the table, the accountant will tell you how much, come up with a name or three for your company and he will do the rest. He won't ask what type of visa you have or any other embarrassing questions. I know this because we went to do it.

Im a fisherman working off the north east coast, I just work may to september when the weather is better, but what we worked in last week
was more like january, fog, wind torrential rain ect,I semi retired last year
after thirty five years working full time.(my uncles the skipper, hes eightythree) So we are taking things a bit easier.
So I know how hard people
work (some a lot harder than myself) to earn and save money, and I dont
like people to be fleeced out of it by red tape and con men which has been
happening to people buying in goa.So keep up the advice.

Sounds interesting, hard work and maybe dangerous too, when you are out at sea. Incredible teamwork and respect required on a small boat i would imagine.
Nice to share other peoples worlds, they can be so different even when we are born in the same country.

Still, wouldn't want to ditch him just yet, it's taken me 20 odd years to get him trained, I'm too old to start again.

Noni - I had the same suggestion made to me twice last time we were in Goa, but in reverse. Apparently if I divorce hubby I still get to keep my PIO card and if I were to marry someone else they would also get PIO as my spouse. Don't know what would happen when it expired though.

Hi Guys
Back from my holiday in France. For those interested, Dinan was fantastic and the Honda Blackbird performed well. As for Goa: Douglas, Toni and Noni did their bit on my mind and I think I have re-sold my interest through churchill but I will only believe when I have seen the bank account statement.
i am sad about this and hope the decision I made (influenced by this forum) was correct.

Nice to have you back, Dinan sounds good, dont be sad you have us to play with now. Only the first few will be able to get out so you have done well. If we are wrong you just go and buy another apartment.
A guy called steve martin was on site about a week ago looking for some advice on "buying" property in goa. Offered to help him but he said he wanted to talk to the bossman, so can you contact him.

Just replied to private message to Steve Martin; I have passed on my concerns, I hope I am wrong for every body elses sake who has bought already. I have now spoken to Churchil reps and they are going to "sell" my interest so I should have money in bank within 4 weeks; I will let you know. I will keep funds ready to buy if Goa finally becomes a real option. Holiday in November still on so it will be nice to put faces to names.

It is hardly a refund if they won't return the money until they sell Dicky's interest and then pay him off out of the proceeds, what if they sell it for less? Who picks up the loss, surely nobody expects them to say how much they sell it on for unless it is at a loss.

Hi Douglas,
Strictly speaking I wasn't seeking advice on my message but wanting to touch base with a fellow D'Costa Palms buyer, in order to compare notes, in a one for all, all for one matey kind of way, but thank you very much for informing him of my existence, Dicky has it would seem now pulled out of buying there, he is no doubt a much more sensible chap than I am, so sadly there are now no longer any notes to compare with him, which from my side is a tad sad as he sounds like he would have been a damned fine neighbour to have had. But as predicted by many on here he may well end up with a fatter wallet than me, who knows ?

Dicky does not have an interest.
The freeholder has not transferred anything to dicky at this stage.
The value of the said property and any fluctuation in its value isnt of any interest to anybody other than the freeholder.
There is no reason why dicky should not have his money back immediately, other than somebody has incurred an illegitimate cost of sale.
That contract was inappropriate ie they contracted to sell something at a future date with the legal equivalent of a twelve year old child.
The decent thing, would be to apologise and reimburse him immediately.

You were seeking positive reinforcement of your decison, most people do. You have made your decision after considering all the evidence and we must respect that.
Just please do not come on the site and use words like "buying" and "my property " as it confuses the newbies.
We cannot do any more than present the facts to FNs, if the facts change and i am still around, i will be the first one to let every one know.
Dicky is a great guy, but he has some pretty disguisting personal habits from what we hear, he calls it integration. So if the window of your apartment was adjacent to his ,you may well have had a narrow escape.
Thanks for getting back to me.

I stand completely corrected about the use of the word buying, but you are making a huge assumption about my motives and are completely wrong, I really am not looking for positive reinforcement of my decision, I'm not that kind of guy, the decision was made by me and wouldnt be changed by anything that I have so far read on here, most of which I concur is completely true in its actuality if not always in its on the ground reality, I was neither looking for any comfort or hand holding to support my decision and neither am I seeking to influance other to follow my possible lunacy, I really was trying to compare notes, no more no less, mainly trying to find out if he had visited the site yet and was he able to give me any recomendations regarding furniture, kitchen appliances and groovy places to eat that i might have missed etc etc etc.

Hi Steve,
We have a thread called "Happy Meals" you should read all the current threads, they are not all doom and gloom, we really are a happy lot.
Everybody has to make his own choice after reading the dare I say "Buying" threads - Douglas and I do not have a choice in the matter. BUT

we will survive
