Hi Thatman
I am travelling to Goa this weekend with two of my English friends, we wil not let the likes of these inhuman inbred terrorists stop us coming over to enjoy ourselves with our heads held high.
They shall not win.
So the best of British and stiff upper.
Cheers

Thanks Thatman been looking forward to coming over again all year could not believe whats happening at the moment, will just have to monitor the situation, bloody reporters seem to make it worse:curse: on the bbc at midday a reporter said the F.Office advises not to travel to India but if you go on the web site its Mumbai they advise not to travel to.

You must re-read posts no 7 and 12 by johnny five and erinsgirl.
I was stating the fact that here in North Goa there is no panic but elsewhere it is immense - people here think it will not happen to them - the laid back approach.

Hi thatman, whilst i agree with most of what you say, the long termers here are worried, at least those on the beach in Candolim were. They were definately not going to Tito's road over the next month nor to the nightmarket and Anjuna. Just hope we are all worrying over nothing.
Large UK firms have stopped their staff travelling anywhere in Goa for the next 14 days.

Those staying on MUST make sure you have proper working communication tools..cell phones, blackberrys etc. Hopefully there'll be no cause for concern, but best be able to communicate easily in any situation that could arise. Reliable taxi drivers are always up to date on what's happening around you minute by minute.

Noni - I think I am being mis-understood here - firstly I said that all of us long termers are worried about our safety especially on NY Eve and we will not be going to the beach as a result of the warnings given earlier and will take care about where we go. J5 and erinsgirl replied with good advice.
We will never go to Mapusa on Friday - will risk 1 Saturday market end of Jan when son comes over but not let him go to any night clubs etc. no matter that he is old enough to make up his own mind.
The question was asked about how was the feeling in Baga etc now and I answered in the way that it was asked - no different - do they really care.
We care because we live here and we know what may happen. I was speaking to some-one today who said they will be on the beach on NYE at the bottom of Holiday Street because if Goa is "bombed" it will be at Baga or Calangute Steps - like they know.
I think there will be one big party where I live or we should all go to Siolim to J5's - if he will pay for all our taxi fares.

Ex-Ingo's Bazaar closed tomorrow I hear (Security and Taxi Drivers).
Ingo , himself ,rides again though, starting at Parra on 6th.December same formula, once there was one ,now there will be three, a bit like floating casinos !

No need to worry about security here though, according to today's Navhind Times quoting the Home Minister ,Mr.Naik
'Some quick camouflage forces will also be deployed to keep watch at what is going on without being observed'.

Cunning and reassuring I think, see if you can spot them in your Vaddo !

So worried were the local police about our security to-day Calentuge/Candolim that they had regrouped to count sunbeds and umbrellas. The locals would not have noticed a sea invasion (running up and down the beach with sunbeds, chairs and umbrellas) nor the police!
They must leave it to us the retired Dads Army.
Give us our sunbeds and we will watch for an invasion and not dolphins.

Apart from not having meet some of you and in these days of terrorist and BEtrolls, I am afraid I cannot permit anybody I have not met into my humble abode Apart from being full up over the Xmas period. OAP partying from 20th Dec - 2nd January, plus a wedding in between. Meeting Kan-conned next week, and then Remy arrives.
Let us all pray that over the holiday period we are kept safe from the evils of the world.
and peace to all.

p.s. Goa Crazy are you in Goa now.
