Nav times thread up and running now - no wonder the locals are up in arms with regard to Acron Moira Development they want 16 swimming pools and jacuzzi's. With the problems with the shortage of water that is really taking the :thumbdown::thumbdown:

oct 2008 - you have all probably got fed up and left this site. we bought in villa maria b4 two years ago and are just about to finalise things due to the monsoon being late.

we love goa, the only down side for me is not much snorkling but my darling hub found me some, sorry its a secret. but again im a bit nervous as im on my own. have said to hub if im waving im fine if i have one arm stuck up im in trouble and two arms up HELP!!! NOW. ive already found a moray eel - a baby thank god.

anyway we are just about to furnish it and rent it out. we intend to live in goa for the winters and france for the summers and sometime here.

i think most people are concerned about the ever changing of rules, but i think, being a bit biased that this is because of another country. i think it will all die down and they will welcome british f.n.

dont forget their heritage with us, portugal etc. after all, we were not very kind to them, the raj period i find unbelievably terrible and the way we as a race treated the indians during these times. its not that long ago that slavery was acceptable.

hubs uncle and aunt were out there when it was handed back and a women chucked her baby through the (open) car window in his aunt's lap hoping she would look after her.

any news from anyone please, especially about villa maria and the furniture packages they have.

Hi Katrina & John, my wife and i with some friends also have an apartment at Villa Maria and will be in Goa on 8th nov to sign final paperwork. We looked at Acrons furniture last year but thought it was a bit expensive so we have gone with (Origins of Goa )and ordered it this summer having looked at it when we were in Goa last year. Have been in touch with them and all being well we should be having it delivered a few days after we arrive. They will also supply and fit A/C units and other electrical goods when we order them. Look forward to meeting you at Villa Maria if you are there when we are. In answer to a previouse question on this forum regarding how Acron have been to do business with, up till now ( touch wood)i have no complaints, they have been very professional in there approach through all stages of the development.

hi billy and jackie - nice to make contact. yes we have found acron pretty decent. i loved the email saying that the build was behind due to the monsoon and even they couldnt argue with the rain gods.

my email is(SNIP)if you would like to make contact direct, due to business committments i dont think we will be there till feb. we cant buy their package anyway until we got out to sign, as you are. actually its not their package its a lady called olinda who is not an acron employee.

we are in the furniture business so it galls us to pay top dosh for stuff!! we even looked into getting our supplier to order us stuff (which is fantastic) and ship it to goa but its not worth it for just us.

Sorry i just dont understand this explanation of the late monsoon and the building works being behind, what the hell has the weather got to do with the construction of a building, they build here throughout the year and the monsoon is the best time according to the builders!!!!! and it was the best monsoon i have experienced since living here,hardly any rain, plenty of sunshine, so the building should be well and truely finished. just another excuse and some people just accept it:rofl::rofl:

sorry poppetjay, i didnt explain it very well it was last year and by all accounts it was bad, people we spoke to confirmed it last year too. nothing to do with acron.

I'm a little confused. From this thread it would seem that there is no problem for a foreign national to buy an Acron home?
Is this the case?? It would seem to go against everything that has been said on the Goa Buyer Beware forum.

You cannot buy even from Acron you can lease and pay freehold price but you cannot buy I think they fail to point this out on their web site.If you are PIO or NRI you can buy property in goa:eek::eek:

Thanks for that. If you read through their FAQ's there is absolutely nothing to suggest there are any restrictions on being able to buy.
I guess their lawyers would have to make it clear when anyone enquired. But the complete lack of any reference in their faq's makes me wonder.
