Maybe you are right, but i keep trying. I am self taught, so i ( maybe niavely) believe if douglas can understand it anyone can. I am also concerned about the newbies coming on to this site for info and i thought maybe its another way of explaining things. Regards douglas |

Keith Rogers Don't think you'll get a decent place for a reasonable price any more, what with all the high prices being paid for property. Check out the new Irish developer he seems to be offering his customers good returns, perhaps he know some one. |

Hi Sue and Karlq
You may or may not know that a new developer has entered the Goan property market. It's an Irish company which has so far concentrated on Eastern Europe (mainly) but is now moving into Goa, with their first development at Cape Corinth. Their website is http://www.larionovo.com/larionovo_goa_india Their brochure (6 or 7 pages) can be downloaded as a pdf file. It makes an interesting reading in view of all that has gone on on this thread! Best wishes Chandu Just out of interest I asked the above developer a couple of questions one being ; Would I own the Freehold ? Answer : " Yes, we are going to be taking care of everthing for our clients, and are also setting the shelf companies up in India for you. The process is very simple & hassle free for you." Wow looks like more people are going to be in for a rude awakening. Wonder what they mean by a "shelf company", any thoughts Douglas? |

Presumably ,the practice of pre - registering a block of ltd cos with the registrar of cos in india with sort of appropriate names like victima tourista holdings pvt ltd. These shell cos then be sold on by the original owner for a small turn . The new buyer then re registers with fresh directors and can also change the name if they wish to something like [I]oso stupida and associates pvt ltd [/I I put in the latiny sounding names cuz it sounds more sort of exotic and romantic and goan and helps greatly with the credibility and the subsequent hit rate. Doesnt the fact that the developer concerned was previously operating in eastern europe tell even the dimmest of mr and mrs joness that maybe they should keep their money in the gold account ( even if they dont read or understand what douglas is saying about the current situation in goa) . douglas |
Re: Acron Homes

I'll give him a call later in the year when I've sorted out renting my place in Suffolk. Any one want to rent a cosy (re)thatched cottage in a sleepy Suffolk village, beams, ingelnook, lovely local pub,75 mins from London by road ???? Keith |

Re: Acron Homes
Dear All
I have been reading with interest the comments on here over the last few months and have found them informative and at times rather depressing. I have just returned from Goa after taking possesion of my apartment at Acron Villa Tina. Overall i am very impressed and pleased with the outcome. I have always found Acron to be both professional and honest. They have informed me of the recent developments regarding X visas and registration of deeds being placed on hold and i am fully aware of the implications. For newbies to this site the information being provided by certain members regarding property purchase should be taken very seriously. However please remember that many members of this site have already crossed the rubicon and have no way back. At the time the recent property issues arose last year i had almost fully paid up for my property, therefore decided to see it through. I have no regrets in doing so, although if i had known over 2 years ago what i do now i may have had second thoughts. I really hope that the recent issues are resolved shortly, as it has been an uncomfortable time for many people. Please take into account that Acron are selling more properties to NRIs and PIOs, there are several families at my complex. Fortunately for me i have some employment and other options available as a plan B, however i plan to enjoy my Acron apartment for as long as possible and i hope that others can to. As for opening a bank account, i did this in one day with no problems using UTI bank, i have a cheque book and ATM card, this is a sterling account, therefore you can only pay in sterling cash, UK transfer or UK travel cheques. Money is then converted to Rupee. Best regards and good luck David |

The issue is, that FNs are not wanted and unfortunately most FNs have such a strong sense of entitlement that they cant see it. I also banked with uti in mapusa, nice people. regards douglas |
Re: Acron Homes
Hi again everyone.
I feel that Douglas M is correct for the foreseable future at least. I would have carried on with my flat in Villa Maria if I could hAve had some assurances that:- A) My lease would be renewed in 58 months time B) I would get 180 day tourist visas going forward C)I would be able to eventually own my gaff Sadly,I dont see this being the case. Great shame as I love Goa Best Regards Keith Rogers |
