This 90 day is on its way in for the British.
There has been talk that is it going through the legal people in Mumbai.
Advice to Brits that have sales agreements is to, GET OUT WHILE YOU CAN WITH YOUR MONEY PLUS ANY COVER COSTS THAT ARE AVAILABLE, WHICH MAY NOT LAST!
Do not leave it too late!
Banyan.

That is the second time today that I have seen mention on this forum that visa issues are being deliberated on and discussed in Bombay
As far as I am aware, all relevant government departments are in Delhi........

Getting on for two years ago I went to the RBI in Mumbai to ask about FEMA in general and also non/resident bank accounts.
I spoke to a Deputy General Manager who was happy to give general advice, but also volunteered the information that 'some people' were trying to scare foreigners into selling their properties cheaply, and advising me not to fall for it.
OK?

Agree with you Poppetjay, comments like that can be unhelpful to those trying to sell, and lets face it, there are many out there who will use the situation to their financial and greedy advantage.
Hope you have some luck soon.

At the end of the day I love being here and if we lose the villa then I have to think positive and say for the amount we have paid we, and our families have had great holidays. ( I stay here 9/10mths of the year). Dont want to lose it - will wreck it if forced to leave!!!

After 5 year living here I am still so confused by 'the system'! I think people on a 'lease cum sale' have a better chance of selling as it goes through the builders directly to the Indian buyer. Obviously there will be the usual baksheesh but know a couple of sellers that have got the bulk of their money back home safely. I wont say what I was offered last season but was ready to nab it but other half wouldnt agree

As much as we winge about Goa - and really it is the authorities that totally piss us off, and winde us up.
We too have put off selling for another season, if it is only 90 days visa property goes on the market, with a heavy heart.
