Default Winkelturm

designed By Herr Winkel. Special style ofhttps://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liste_..._Bauart_Winkel Hochbunker, which was a specifically German type of military architecture from the 1930s and 1940s.

i have long had an interest in the Strategic Bombing Offensive and the German response.

Creepy ? Weird ?

I walked past the one in Stuttgart for some years. Never thought more about it other than "WW2 relic".

Winkelturm Wiener Platz
We had one of those near my school. It was used by the local green grocer to store the veg. It was later demolished.
Stuttgart had different types of Hochbunker.
Not all are/were Winkeltuerme.

When I lived in Stuttgart in the 60ties, the bunker still had camouflage color. It was then used as overnight place for vagrants.

May be on my next stay in Austria I will make a trip to Stuttgart for a trip down memory lane.
