i have long had an interest in the Strategic Bombing Offensive and the German response.

Only in Germany Building bunkers above ground ("Hochbunker") is cheaper than going downwards !

Stuttgart had different types of Hochbunker.
Not all are/were Winkeltuerme.

When I lived in Stuttgart in the 60ties, the bunker still had camouflage color. It was then used as overnight place for vagrants.
May be on my next stay in Austria I will make a trip to Stuttgart for a trip down memory lane.
