I thought I'd ask here for any information regarding the receiving of form S-1 considering my particular circumstances.
I became a naturalized British citizen in 2012. I had taken early retirement from my job in the US in 2004 at age 55, and moved to the UK shortly after.
I never worked while in the UK so I've not paid into the state pension scheme.
I do have an NI number and am past the age of claiming a state pension, not that there's one to claim however.
What I'm wanting to know is would I be eligible to receive the S-1 form?
Thanks for any help.

S-1 forms are provided for UK folks who have a State Old Age Pension.
As you have never worked in the UK and do not receive a pension I don't believe you are eligible.

I knew a USC who always worked in the USA.
When he retired, he fancied living in France.
He didn't work in France but he received a Carte Vitale.
He received all his treatments FOC because he had low income.
He eventually needed more care and returned to the USA to be near his family.

Was he an EU citizen, or if not how did he get a visa to live in France without sufficient funds to support himself? Indeed how did he get a carte vitale if he had such a low income? How long ago was this?

Yes absolutely - the S1 is not the only route to healthcare in France.

He started to develop dementia and returned to live near his children in Texas about 3 years ago.
He was not an EU citizen.
He just enjoyed life in France although his vocabulary was no more than "merci" and "oui" - literally no more than that.
I did not understand how he got a CV but he also had to renew his Carte de Sejour a few years ago - surprised again.
The object of my last post was to show that it was possible to get into the french system.

If the OP was eligible for the old system then he may qualify under the old rules.

Thank you so much for the helpful replies!
I'll call DWP to see what my options are. It's good to know that I may be able to get in the French system via PUMA failing the S-1 route.
