UK Based Employer
Hi.
I may have the opportunity of working for a UK Based Employer, I however will be based in France which is where I live full time.
The employer will pay me through the uk salary system, deduct tax and NI and pay the remainder into my uk bank account.
Does anyone know if this is ok to do?

Yes, I did a similar thing. You just have to inform the french tax office of your UK income when you do your tax return there, but as there is a double tax agreement between UK and France, you don't pay tax twice.

Are you not liable for additional tax though Val if the French rate is higher than the Uk one?

I never had to pay additional tax to the french authorities. There are so many more things you can claim for in France too, which helps.
This might be of interest too

there is also a new double taxtreaty between France and UK that is due to come into effect later this year - more details here
