Castres is really nice - I spent several days near there - but it is quite far to the nearest airport. I wasn't aware of train links.

Hi again, I don't need an airport nearby, not thinking of leaving once we settle wherever. Renting is a good idea, i will contact the vendors and off this, with a view to buy.
This website is just amazing, all of you offering free advice.
