Hi all, just to say we finally sold the flat, at a loss but hey it's gone. We have still 1 problem to resolve, the dishonest syndic won't provide the accounts. We have an amount sitting in an account to pay for our outstanding charges (invoices) but will only pay on receiving the final accounts. Almost free! ??

Does anyone know a good independant Financial adviser in Lyon?

thanks

Congratulations, yes taking the loss is the easiest option and it makes you question you choices when re investing in the next home.

Congratulations +
For possible interest to others, did you finally sell through an auction, through a PAP ad, notaire, or through a traditional agency?

Exclamation Re: Neighbour problems

Hello TP, we engaged 2 agencies and the woman above (in loft flat) saw the adverts. She contacted my partner direct, so in the end it was privately sold. Better for us as she's aware of all the problems. The agencies did have 1 or 2 couples interested but at a lower price.
Hope my story will help others avoid the same problems.

Congratulations on the sale SuzieB. Even if you have made a loss (hopefully a small one) you are better off out of the situation. Very best of luck with whatever you do next!

Hello Bevs + Mike

Thanks for your support. Sadly Mike the loss wasn't small but it was the only way to escape and stay sane.
I'm not sure what's next, my partner is changing job in the next few months. He's staying with his company but will be working on a project in Algeria. We can be based anywhere but have to think it through carefully. Hence my request for a Financial adviser in Lyon.

Again, thanks to all who have supported me. Merci beaucoup

Sorry to hear it was a costly move but as my Dad used to say 'you cannot put a price on your health'. Regarding a financial advisor I can't help from personal experience but this link (hope I am not breaking any rules by posting it) gives a list of financial advisors in Lyon.

Thanks Mike, I have looked at that site but wary unless someone recommends a good adviser. Your dad was right!

+1
It never ceases to amaze me how many suffer because of bad neighbours.
I have had my fair share too.

IMHO, there is really only one way to deal with these ‘people’ but I think that’s illegal.

SuzyB,
I reckon you should be awarded a B.E medal, not only for managing to escape and stay sane, but especially for having what appears to be the longest running thread (2011-2016) on the France forum.
Good luck for the future!

Audio I agree! only my partner is tooooo diplomatic, reason why in my opinion we struggled for so long. I wanted to take the other approach at times believe me.

Thanks TP, would gladly accept a medal or some recognition of my fight. Sad really that my thread has been the longest, what a waste of my life! 2017 there will be no more updates or comments unless I finally write a book about it all?
