Sorry about that jdr, I just don't like to break promises.
I suppose that brings an end to this thread then, as the whole idea was to HELP people to understand words that weren't in the french dictionary.

Just think how many languages there are in Europe alone and if people from Spain or Portugal or Holland etc started posting in their language in the France forum ? ;-)

I am sorry but if everyone started using their own countries language it could end up being a nightmare, so admin agreed that the language should be English, then all British expats can understand.

I don`t see the occasional word here and there ;-) but when it is impossible to miss....

The Mods are just doing their job,they do it for nothing,they dont see the odd phrase or word, and give us a lot of slack.So please just understand its not personal just how it is.This forum is such sourse of info, and also fun, .I for one wouldn't want to have to do what they do.

On the subject of dialect, my brother was telling me that the firm he works for in Luton organised a French course for the employees.
He found it quite easy to understand because it the french of the "midi"-(hope that's correct), instead of the standard Paris accent.
