Legless ( or seeking a prosthetist )
Back in the UK the NHS gave me a pretty good leg but here I can have even better. The trouble is the prosthetist I go to in Dole doesn't do the socket system I'm good with (ratchet system) so they have fobbed me off with an older system. Worse still they just make up lies to cover the fact they are not set up to fit my preferred system so as to get my business.
Basically I am looking for a decent prosthetist ANYWHERE in France who fulfils a couple of criteria.
Firstly they do the Ossur Icelock (or similar) system.
Secondly they speak enough English so we can discuss complicated medical and fitting issues.
I understand I can fill in a form (what form?) to return to the UK for treatment under the NHS, but I prefer to stay in France as NHS service is limited by departmental budgets.
If anyone knows or can find a prosthetist that can help I'll be eternally grateful.
If anyone knows or can find a prosthetist that can help I'll be eternaly greatful.

Other than that I think you would be better off going to either Besançon or Dijon. Failing that Lyon is only about 75mins drive from Lons Le Saunier.

I'm afraid Orthopedic prosthetics are things like hip or knee replacement (ortho is to do with bone).
Nothing really for prosthétique limbs there, but thanks for trying.

The only thing medically good at the Pasteur hospital in Dole is the maternité, and the IRM unit (MRI in english). I went to the IRM for a problem with my back - I have a broken disc which needs to be operated on. At Dole I was told to go Dijon as the specialist didn't seem that impressed with the Dole hospital.....

Limb Prosthétiques are not dealt with at the hospital beyond the examination stage. The actual sourcing and fitting is dealt with in an outside clinic.
It's one of these clinics where someone speaks english that I'm looking for.

Agree'd. Maternite were brilliant with my wife and her ovarian cyste. When she moved into the main building it became a knightmare.

I just remember from my years of nursing that often companies that made orthopedic prosthesis also had links to those that supplied prosthetic limbs
this company are based in France
