Can anyone recommend any trips worth going on while in Paris?

The Bateau Mouche boat trip on the Seine is relatively inexpensive and the guides offer French and English explainations - nicer than an open top bus. If there's lots of time to kill, you could always take a trip out to Provins which is a very pleasant medieval town on the outer edge of Ile de France.

I've yet to try Versaille myself!
If you want something slightly less commercial Vaux le Vicomte is very nice too.

I went once a few years ago when my partner had a work trip there one weekend. We left from Paris and I recall it probably took an hour or just over.
I'm afraid I don't know who offers bus trips from Paris, but I'm quite certain it's possible.

From: From Yorkshire to Paris, the long way round via Michigan.

we were there week before last and did a bike tour, fat tire bike tours they were called, which all the family enjoyed. google them for better details than I have but their office was close to Eiffel Tower.

Ah, here you go, you can book with 'Paris Vision'

Seems a little pricey though and they also throw in a couple of extras which may not be of interest:

I'd also highly recommend Provins - had a wonderful time there a couple of years back:
