Le Croisic
Just visited this seaport town east of Nantes and south of Vannes and been rather bowled over by its historic beauty and vibrancy. Looking to spend a week there to discover more. Any recommendations?

Hi, my sister-in-law used to live in the area. I'd recommend just about everywhere on the map! Across the Marais Salants to Guérande, a drive through La Grande Brière (Parc Naturel), any and all of the fishing ports, a long walk along the beach at ritzy La Baule, lunch at the hotel near Pornichet where Mr. Hulot went on holiday. Boat trip to Hoedit, Houat or Belle-Ile...
I don't think a week will be enough!

Off to vide grenier in Vannes today and hopefully one at St Nolff, then back to home. What a great weekend. And, an hour extra in bed!

Re: Le Croisic
Le Croisic is pretty much they only place we have holidayed in France since we moved here we have been three times already. There really is a lot to do and see. We visited the submarine at St Nazaire, not normally my cup of tea at all but I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend a visit to anyone!
We took a boat trip on the salt marshes, had the tour of the salt-harvesting, went to Belle Isle, we love Guerande and Pornic, really, so many places....
As we moved from 30 minutes from the Fylde coast, living in the Centre of France makes us feel a little bit far from the sea so our children absolutely adore being by the sea, there are sandy beaches and rocks, many happy hours spent looking for crabs and jellyfish. Happy Days
