Re: Coronavirus
I rang this morning and it is open for repairs, but not for the commercial side. My RV this week is purely administrative and since "le commercial" isn't coming for at least two weeks, it's cancelled. I'll have to find out whether this postponement will have any legal impact on my situation - I'm purchasing my car from Renault after 3 years' leasing which expires next week...
The present situation is such that provisions must surely be made for signatures made after a dead-line? But since the situation is completely unknown, no one will be able to reply...

Re: Coronavirus
A friend who knows someone who works in the French Senate suggests they might announce a confinement of 45 days for everyone, along with a curfew of 6pm. Macron's speaking tonight (8pm I think), so will have to see if that comes to pass and what it entails.

Just so everyone is clear going food shopping for essentials is not something you can do with someone else, Gendarmes are going into supermarkets looking what inside their baskets/trollies and checking to see if they are with anyone. Fines are being issued for failing to comply with the rules.
It's also not a good time to have a Ile de France number plate outside of Paris incidents of vandalism to said cars is going up.

On another note, unless I just haven't had any snailmail to deliver, our Postlady hasn't come for the last couple of days.
On yet another note, there haven't been any cold-calls for the last couple of days. I'm obliged to answer the landline nowadays, and no reply when I asked the latest man-with-a-foreign-accent whether he was in France....

There was a masked Security Agent at the entrance to my small supermarket yesterday, probably preventing couples from entering as there were only "singles" doing their shopping. No one at the exit since the store only sells "essentials".
On another note, unless I just haven't had any snailmail to deliver, our Postlady hasn't come for the last couple of days.

FWIW, life in my village is going on as ever before, but now in holiday mood.
People walking, jogging, cycling, coming together in the village and having a good chat about being in lockdown.
And tomorrow our very popular market is ''ON'' Yeahhhh !
(I hate people more and more).

Re: Coronavirus
Useful link here for people wanting to see the figures hospitalised per department because to per region ones can be misleading when there is a big popular city in it. If anyone has a link to actual cases per department I would be appreciate to have it.
