Default CDD employment contracts "Termination"

If your on a two week "CDD" contract that is renewed every two weeks can you leave for another job "CDI" at anytime it obviously can't have a months notice we are just a tad perplexed as to what the notice period would be in this case.

Hi. There's a certain incoherence in your question:- except in exceptional circumstances, a CDI of 14 days can't be renewed until one month has elapsed and can then only be renewed once, and once only, otherwise the contract automatically becomes a CDI.

Hi, this government link gives info:
http://travail-emploi.gouv.fr/inform...tml#sommaire_3
The third question under "Sommaire" states that a CDD for less than 14 days can't be renewed before 7 days have elapsed ("half the total duration of the Contract". A CDD for more than 14 days can't be renewed until "one third of the total duration of the Contract" has elapsed. "14 days" is quite ambiguous in fact, as weekends are included if they are counted as working days. It depends on what the job is and how the duration is expressed in the Contract.
I haven't read the whole link, but would imagine that if a CDI were offered elsewhere, you can accept it but must first finish the 14 days' CDD in accordance with the Contrat.
I don't know any one personally in this situation, I only know from what the above official link says...

A CDI would not be 14 days it is by name a "Contract Duration Indeterminée" full time permanent work for an unspecified time.

A CDD is a "Contrats à durée déterminée" a limited term contract normally used for short term temporary work covering staff that are off sick.

Thanks

Currently it has been CDD 14 days at a time renewed on the last day or the day after the last day as it is sick cover with a possibility of something more permanent a CDI would not be forthcoming until the medecin du travail has finalised the other employees contract. But an interview with a CDI at an alternative location has presented itself and start dates normally have quite an impact on being offered the job. As I see it the timeout between contracts does not apply as it is sick cover.

Effectivement, replacing someone on a maladie is one of the exceptions. I think if you want to leave a CDD then the préavis is one day per week of CDD length, so in your case, 2 days. But something tells me that you can leave a CDD for a CDI with no préavis whatsoever.

http://www.pratique.fr/quel-preavis-depart-cdd.html
says that you can leave a CDD for a CDI, giving a préavis of one day per week of the CDD duration, or negotiate with the employer if they agree to terminate the Contract before the date stipulated.
A little further down, "Conséquences de l'absence de préavis de départ en CDD" lists the risks of not giving notice...
