Default Geotechnical Engineers - market for?

Am a geology graduate currently doing a geotechnical engineering MSc whilst working full time for a large multi-discipline consultancy in the UK within the ground investigation - geotechnical dept.

When I get my Masters I will be 25 with 4 years experience and will want to look to move overseas having lived and worked abroad previously.

Could anyone give me a rough gauge of what the market for British trained geotechnical engineers is like at the moment. Im not concerned about the destination, althought the middle east is preferable, just any info to give me an idea of what I'm heading into would be very much appreciated.

Cheers

arnott_cs,
I dunno if you are still looking. However, be aware that a lot of companies in the geotechnical engineering range will only pay for you as one of those once you qualify (ie you get your Masters) and often your geology experience is irrelevant.
Have you tried applying through your existing company?
A good company to apply for that is specifically geotechnical engineering is Fugro with offices worldwide - look on their website - they are almost always recruiting.
Alternatively, simply apply to one of the large international civil engineering companies.
Dubai as a city has a huge amount of construction work going on if you want the Middle East. The Far East has less so, and has it's own large educated work force already so the competition is stiffer.
best of luck
OS
