Thumbs up Leaving the sinking UK..........

Hi, we are a couple M47, F42. We are seriously looking to get out of the UK before it sinks completely under a sea of scroungers and layabouts. We really wanted to go to Australia, New Zealand or the States but these destinations seem almost impossible unless you are a millionare or brain surgeon or ideally both.
We are now looking to relocate probably to Spain or possibly France.
Anybody got any good tips, ideas on Employment Searches, Property Purchasing...etc etc.
Anybody got any stories about Migration Agencies?? good or bad.
Any help appreciated....

Thanks

Steve & Kas

I am currently living in France, spending the coming winter in a gite provided by the farm where my husband works. We have a small caravan to accommodate our ever increasing belongings, and will move on from here next spring to wherever we find a job.

My suggestion to you is that you lease out your present accommodation, and embark on a working holiday. Then you will get to have a good look around, but still have somewhere to return if things don't work out this time.

By the way, we were not farmers by any stretch of the imagination, but looked at farmwork because accommodation is often supplied with the job. Started with dairy cows, have moved on to beef, but are willing to have a go at anything. Gaining good references along the way certainly helps.

It is sad that you feel that way about the UK but have you thought about relocating somwhere else in the UK?

You really did not say what you are looking for in terms of lifestyle, weather type, do you like just open land or city life etc.

My parents moved to Spain and hated it. The oldies just seemed to get tanked up every night in their villas etc etc. sounds good but was pretty boring. If you move to Spain take a good look round as if you live in the sticks too much you may find it too isolated.
Good luck with whatever you do...

Im serious, Me my wife and our 5 year old son are moving over to Northern Cyprus before the end of this year. Although not yet recognised as a country, the north of the island is a beautiful place to live. The people are warm and welcoming the culture is wonderful and the cost of living is extremely cheap. Education is fantastic with a mixed English\Turkish curriculum (Taught by English trained teachers) and the universities are all American. We have been visiting for some time now and have no hesitation in moving. Don't believe any propoganda horror stories about the north, do some research and find the truth......we did and are glad we did.
