Hi Sean,
its not so much that they aren't accepting them because they still are its a case of the processing time is longer. No-one knows how much longer though as the changes are recent and DIAC hasn't published any kind of time frame. State sponsored is the quickest route and is a priority processing visa. WHich means you will get processed ahead of most of the other applications.
If you want your visa soonish, go for a state sponsored. If you can wait a few years, then stick with a 175. When the economy picks up so will the need for sparkies.
The states are beginning to revise their sponsorship lists so act fast. I think SA is changing their from the 31st march so you will need to get your application in quickly if you want SA sponsorship. It is currently not know what they are going to amend it to.
Good luck what ever you decide!

hi i have the same problem
and am up early completing the SA state sposnorship form ready to submit today and am now confused about where i have to explain how to get licensed over there.
my dh did and passed vetassess. It looks like he will have to get limited registration when we get there then do the gap training and then a small business management course and then apply for full licencing
is that right or is there an easier way getting the ATRA which i have seen mentioned a lot on these threads?
please help
i am panicking my agent didn't tell us about this change a friend did on friday
