Check out the practical theory at the top of the page.
Our advice would be to learn your safe disconnection and connection procedure as provided to you by Vetassess and also nail the motor side of things. Those are the two things that british sparkies get stuck on. Good luck!

Hi Janna & Nick,
I see you are still chipping away at it and it looks like you are nearly there by your timeline!
Thanks for the tips I will start swatting up on those areas.

Thanks Kenny,
I would be interested to know which part the paper based assessment plays on the day of the practical?
Do the assessors interview you on the day with a profile they have built up from the paper based assesment already submitted?
On another note, if anyone could recommend somewhere decent to stay in Blackburn close to the college, I would appreciate it?

I do not think they have built up a profile other than that we appear to have genuine evidence relating to our trade.
It appears to be a good system, but the lack of information we recieve does not help us.

the college in blackburn is in the town centre, its a shit hole mate i used to live there & its just got worse. your better staying out of town in a hotel there is a couple out of town do a google search. right where the college is 2 mins walk its full of prostitutes at night, so be carefull mate.

this is very nice & 10 mins drive in a straight line to the college.
if you decide on this place, come out on the main rd turn left onto preston old rd travel direct heading for blackburn town center, then turn right at the junction for Montugue St down the hill turn into fielden st then right into St Annes St you can park on the water sport car park the college is right in front of you.
you cal also get a decent meal there or you can take your life in your hands & go to the town center at night.??? the pubs are right round the corner from the college.

the pubs are as rough as guts mate in the town center especially in the evenings fighting all over the place, however if you want a decent pub lunch then the Jubillee pub is very decent at lunch time with decent pricing, direactions are come out of the college onto fielden st facing waves water car park, go left at the end of the rd turn right go up about 300 yards then the pub is on your left, its right across from King George's Hall decent pub food.
